Winter 2016 Tour in the Works!

Howdy Friends,

We’re back at it, deep in the planning stages of our second coast-to-coast winter tour!

We’ll be blasting off from Oakland on December 28th, and planning a homecoming show for February 16th.

We can’t wait to visit all of our friends along the southern route of the US, and play with some amazing bands.

We’re headed to some new territory as well, booking shows in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri & Oklahoma! (In addition to  Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana)

We’ll update when we’ve got all of our venues booked & more info on the awesome folks we’re sharing stages with (and as soon as Roachie makes a poster!)

Halloween at Gilman was a Blast!

Thanks for helping us make our next music video.

We're Gonna Die This Way
We’re thrilled to share with you the album artwork for our upcoming album “We’re Gonna Die This Way”, created by the incredibly talented Rebecca Rankin.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our tracks and are all set to release it in May!

We’re Going to Die This Way…

We’ve been a bit quiet around these parts recently, but only because we’ve got some awesome things brewing at Ghost Town HQ…. we’ve been in the studio!

We are VERY excited to announce that recording for our second album We’re Going to Die This Way is underway.  We’re recording new songs that are near and dear to our hearts, some you may have heard on our last round of tours, and some are brand new.

We’re working with some incredibly talented engineers and artists, and can’t wait to share our final project with you all.

Keep your eyes peeled for announcements about release dates and exciting summer tour announcements.

XO,

We’ve partnered with Rocket Punch! Records

rocketpunchHey Ghosts!

It is with great pleasure that we announce that we will be partnering with the Oakland independent label Rocket Punch! Records for our next release, We’re Gonna Die This Way.

As some of you know, RP!R is a true Oakland original, and about as indie as indie gets. They have a strong history of supporting the local bay area music scene, and have worked with such bands as Computer Class (formerly Death Ray), Hoverbikes, and Hurricane Ru Paul.

What does this mean for Ghost Town Gospel?

Better networking! Shared adventures! More promo! A sweet Rocket Punch! logo on our next album!

What does it mean for you our friends, family and fans?

This is just one step in the many we’re currently taking to kick things up to a whole new level.

Stay tuned and stand by for recording announcements and updates, tour announcements, and more videos of Josh eating really stupid things – big things are coming!

Lineup Changes

Happy TrailsSo this post has been a long time coming, and to be honest, it’s not something we’ve looked forward to writing.

There’s been a lot going on in our collective worlds since the Ghosts and Gobbelins tour last fall, and as many of you know we’ve been on a bit of a hiatus since then.

There’s been a lot of discussion, a lot of talking, a lot of reorganizing, and here it is:

It is with great heaviness in our hearts that we announce the departures of David Larson and Tyler Pritchard.

We’ve parted ways with both members for different reasons and at different times, and are just now getting around to making this one announcement.

We wish David the best in his new life in New Orleans, and wish the same to Tyler with his continued endeavors in Oakland.

Know that this isn’t the end of Ghost Town Gospel. Far from it, in fact. In the time since we took this hiatus we’ve all done some traveling, had some adventures, and written a LOT of songs.

It is with this spirit of renewal that we’re pleased to announced the remaining members – Roachie, Dillie, and Josh (now on banjo!) – have finally begun preproduction on our long awaited second album We’re Gonna Die This Way. The final product is still a long way out, since the theft of Dilly’s viola has been a major setback to the rehearsal and recording process.

Stay tuned for updates on the album and the recording process, as well as for future tour announcements.

In the mean time, you can catch Roachie and Josh hard at work in the Black Rock Desert. Keep your eyes peeled for some surprise performances at that thing in the dust.

Keep it rockin’, friends.

Big things are a comin’.
